24. We have a house now!

Home Sweet Home in Kibagabaga
Yesterday evening we were finally able to move into our new (rented) house in the Kibagabaga neighborhood of Kigali. (Isn't that a great name -- "Kibagabaga"? Almost as good as Kalamazoo!)  The house has four bedrooms (1 for an office) and is all on one floor. Tile floors throughout are ceramic tile (as is typical here) and the ceiling (in the living room) is a beautiful hardwood design. (Hardwood goes on the ceiling here, not the floor, like in US houses!)

We also love the garden, which is quite well manicured, and includes a huge palm tree. Our view off the front porch is great (maybe not quite as spectacular as the AirBnB house, but still great.) We overlook a valley and on the other side we can see Green Hills Academy and the Amahoro (soccer) Stadium.

The landlords have been working hard to get through a pretty long "needed repairs" list. The house has been empty for a couple months and the previous tenant took it unfurnished. So we've seen a plumber, an electrician and several repair and cleaning people here.

Our Rav4 becomes a moving van. (We had to make 3 trips all together.)

Saying good-bye to the "old" house in Kimihurura -- we will miss the good friends and the pool!

Buying mattresses in Kigali - not exactly the "ArtVan" experience!
