Green Hills Academy, Nyutarama, Kigali
Today we decided to get to the school and at least see what it is like. It seemed very strange and different and "not nice" to Naomi. Isaac seemed to appreciate that while, different, it had good buildings, a beautiful setting, and he got really excited as we ventured onto the sports field and saw dozens of kids playing organized games of soccer and volleyball. I enjoyed seeing the end of the traditional dance class.
Happy, the admissions director, asked us to come back tomorrow, Friday, at 10am so Isaac and Naomi can take the placement exams. We were happy to see the kids in their uniforms. Fun to note that the entire school divides into 4 different groups for sports activities and they have great names: Mandela, Ghandi, Martin Luther King and Gisa. Gisa is a Rwandan hero killed in the war to end the genocide.

This is some kind of construction site on the athletic fields -- maybe basketball courts? |
